The Fast Growth Business Awards took place at the London Marriott on Wednesday March 12th. Among the 15 different award categories is the Green Business of the Year.
The criteria for the Green Business category (according to http://fgba.co.uk) are:
The winning company must have a convincing green ’story’. This means providing evidence of a concerted effort and true commitment to be as green as possible in as many aspects of the business as possible - demonstrating that it is a driver, not an attempt to garner publicity.
They also require the following:

A green audit from Carbon Trust and/or Envirowise; carbon neutral status via www.carbonneutral.com; Green Mark accreditation via www.greenmark.co.uk; British Standards Institute environmental management standard ISO 14001 etc.
The 2008 Green Business Category was won by Alara Wholefoods. Other finalists include Paper Round, LTD., Sharps Brewery and The Phone Co-op.
